 -Neither bond is 100% Ionic nor is 100% covalent.

-Ionic character in a covalent molecular is quantitavely covalent character in an ionic compound is      qualitatively estimated by phemenon of polarization explain by fajan.

Conclusion-

-Two cation a to b having same charge and they have comparable ionic size.

(a).If both cation a and b have pseudo noble gas electronic configuration and atomic no.of A is                  greater than atomic no.of B,then polarizing power of A will be greater then polarizing power of          B.
(b).If a has pseudo noble gas electronic configuration and B. has non-inert gas electronic                          configuration then.
   
 -When both A and B belong to same period then polarizing power of A will be greater then of B.

-When A and B belong to diff. period and atomic no. of B>A then polarizing power of B>A.

(c).If a has noble gas electronic configuration and B has pseudo noble/non-inert/partially filled d-        subshell then polarizing power of B>A. 

(d).Polarizing power of cations having noble-gas electronic configuration is determined by charge        to radivs ratio.Which is also called ionic potertail.

(e).If two cations have diff.charges then their polarizing power is compared on the basis of nature        of their compounds for a given anion.
